Snitterfield Junior Football Club hosted their third annual road race in glorious sunshine. A record number of entries set off on the six mile run at 10am. Just over half hour later the winner, Jack Mee crossed the finish line in new course record of 33 minutes and 32 seconds beating his own time of last year by almost 1 minute.

Thank you to everyone who took part especially in very warm conditions. Many thanks to event organisers Sarah Protheroe and Beckie Reaper, time keepers and course referees John Turner & Mike Doyle plus all of the volunteers who helped marshal the event and provide refreshments. The only disappointment of the day was that chairman Sean Reaper did not manage to get a taste of Sarah Nibletts world famous lemon drizzle cake.

We look forward to welcoming all interested runners to next years race which will take place on Sunday 27th June 2010.

Here are some more images from the 2009 event.

Annual Presentation Evening

What a night, our annual Presentation Evening saw the six teams split over two sittings with over 200 people attending. It was great to see so many people come along and share the evening with the players.

Chairman, Sean Reaper presided over proceedings and was delighted to report that the club has continued to expand and improve again this season. All teams have competed well in their leagues and cup competitions. He also informed everyone of the clubs future plans and ambitions. This year all efforts are focussed on obtaining FA Charter Standard (hopefully by the end of 2009).

The football clubs committee was praised for their dedication over the year. Thank you gifts were given to Phil Allen for maintaining the training pitch and Paul Herring for the website. There were also acknowledges for Marcus Lewis (U8 manager) who leaves with our best wishes and Steve Lewis who resigned earlier in the year as chairman.

Awards were handed out by the respective team mangers to all players to recognise their hard work over the season. Individual awards were also presented for Team Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer, Managers Players of the Year and Parents / Players Player of the Year.
